The Tasmanian Badminton Association was formed in 1933 with membership being the Northern Tasmanian Badminton Association, The southern Tasmanian Badminton Association and the North Western Badminton Association.

Membership of these bodies was formed for the purpose of playing badminton, which affiliate with it and conform to the requirements of it constitution.

The Objects of the Tasmanian Association are:

1.      To Promote, Advance, control and supervise the game of Badminton in Tasmania.

2.      To ensure the adoption of uniform rules for Badminton in Tasmania and to decide all doubtful and disputed questions in the connection therewith.

3.      To arrange, manage and authorise tournaments interstate and intrastate matches and all things relative thereto.

4.      To sanction and regulate the dates of the holding of all open and Association Tournaments in Tasmania.

5.      To affiliate with Australian Badminton Association and arrange for representation on that body.
